MEDIU listed in National Academic Recognition Information Centre (NARIC)

Recently, Al-Madinah International University(MEDIU) has received a recognition letter to be listed in National Academic Recognition Information Centre (NARIC) database which is based in United Kingdom. The performance is seen to build and maintain relationships with other  international learning institutions in general, and achieving its objective approach since the beginning of the University’s establishment in order to achieve global and international recognition.

The first practical periodic updates of the related matter will be at the beginning of July 2014, and they wished to extend their appreciation to MEDIU in its global interest and the commitment to the equality of academic certificates internationally. They also expressed their willingness to offer their research services in which to evaluate and compare the University’s certificates and its services (Benchmarking) as well as analysis of the level of the university qualifications based to (EQC Framework). In addition, they are willing to provide ‘Grade Comparisons’ to make the equation of the certificates are abide by the International Standard Classification of Education (ISCED); a statistical framework for organizing information on education maintained by the UNESCO.

The National Academic Recognition Information Centre (NARIC),which is based in United Kingdom is the national agency responsible for providing information, advice and expert opinion on the qualifications worldwide. They are acting on behalf of the Government of the United Kingdom and offers a wide range of advisory services that compare international qualifications . They extend their services to colleges and universities that accept international students, employers who wants to identify the best applicants outside of UK, in addition to potential migrants who wish to apply through the Points Based System(PBS) in addition to that they need to migrated to UK for work or study purpose as well as possessed international qualifications.

It is noted as a new milestone for MEDIU since its inception seven years ago, allowing the University’s to contributes in strengthening the competitiveness of university qualifications in the education market for abroad students. MEDIU is listed as well in several institutions and international organizations, such as the European Foundation for Quality in eLearning(EFQUEL), International Association of Universities(IAU) and member of the Islamic Development Bank(IDB).

Visit by International Islamic University Malaysia(IIUM) to MEDIU


Al-Madinah International University(MEDIU) received a delegation visit from the International Islamic University Malaysia(IIUM) on Friday, 25 April 2014. The visit was aim to look more closely in MEDIU’s implementation in receiving the high rank for the Web World University Ranking (Webometrics) among other universities in Malaysia hence discussing related matters pertaining to it.

The delegates were led by Asst.Prof.Dr.Mohaida Mohin, Deputy Director Corporate Communication Division; Assoc.Prof.Dr.Abd.Rahman Ahlan from Kuliyyah of Information & Communication Technology; Mrs. Siti Raiza Misbah from Corporate Communication Division; Mrs. Siti Thuraiya, Director Office of Deputy Rector and other departments personnel. The delegation was welcomed by MEDIU’s Deputy CEO of Research and Development; Assoc. Prof. Dr. AB Rahim Ismail along with the department representatives.

Asst.Prof.Dr.Mohaida Mohin congratulates MEDIU on the success achieved recently in Web Matrix classification in February 2014, which MEDIU has rank first place among Malaysia private universities and occupies the seventh place among the universities in Malaysia in general.

During the visit, Assoc. Prof. Dr. AB Rahim Ismail states that the orientation of the University ‘s education system is in the adoption of the latest technology as well as a pioneer in e-learning method in pursuit of global modern educational system. He also stressed on University’s commitment to support the education career by adopting the latest technology in the curriculum. A visual presentation on MEDIU, its techniques and educational administrative process were also being presented to the honored delegation by Mr. Aiman Abdullah Mohamed.

At the end of the visit, token of appreciation were presented to the delegation and this was later followed by an office tour around MEDIU ‘s academic and administrative facilities. The IIUM delegates were impressed on the progress and efforts conducted by its Honorable CEO;  Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi in ensuring teamwork and collaboration among the employees in contributing to the advancement of the University not only in Malaysia, but for the Asian region as well. They convey their admiration towards MEDIU achievements and reputation in a short period of time since its inception, thus expressed their desire to extend the bridges of cooperation as well as to strengthen the relationship between IIUM and MEDIU in regards to the research and development areas.

Staff Takaful Welfare Fund – CEO

Employees are the foundation for the development of an organization and it is a social responsibility to the employer to protect the interests of its employees. Thus, MEDIU’s CEO founded  ‘Staff Takaful Welfare Fund’(STWF).

Recently, the Public Relations Department conducted an interview with its CEO, Prof.Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi to learn more on the importance of the services, to reflect on the fund’s goals and interests. 

Introduction of ‘Staff Takaful Welfare Fund’(STWF)?
– The establishment of STWF was launched in 2010, with the members needs to be an employee of the University. The objectives of this fund is configured to generate fund for the employees as well as to set up contributions from MEDIU’s employees and the University.

How it works?
– The contribution will be made through payroll deduction in an amount agreed upon by the employee, with the purpose of providing financial assistance, subsidies and loans to eligible employees of the members of the STWF. Providing financial support to ease employees burden in unforeseen circumstances, child birth and marriage funds are among the services available.

What is the procedures?

– Deduction of salary will be made to staff who signed the Subscription Form only. University will contribute as well in the STWF based on 1 to 1 condition. The form will be signed by the employee to allow HR to deduct the amount from the salary.

Is it mandatory?
– The contribution is based on sincerity and is not a mandatory to each employee. However,  benefiting from this Fund is only for the staff that’s agreed to contribute in the STWF.

Number of participation?
– The fund has accumulated 49 members and hopefully this number will increase from time to time.

Who is managing the fund?

– The Managing Board comprises of Head of Administrative Affairs Division as Chairman, Secretary of the Administrative Affairs Division as Secretary and six(6) representatives from all the University’s division.

At the end of the session, MEDIU’s Honorable CEO, Prof.Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi express his gratitude on the Management’s initiative and invite all the employees to participate in the fund, to collaborate and solidarity among the staff.

CEO with Students Representative Council 2014

MEDIU’s Honorable CEO; Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi meet up with the new Students Representative Council for the year 2014 on Tuesday, 23 April 2014. The session was led by its President, Mr.Ramzi Oulad Imaroudia  and accompanied by Mr. Mahmoud Radwan Hussein Al-Zgool; Head of Counseling and Student Activities Department.

The meeting reflects Prof. Dr. Mohammad’s seriousness to meet the student representative council to find out more on the election which was held recently on 18 April 2014 and listen to their views and recommendations. During the session, CEO expressed his appreciation to the Student Representative Council in their willingness to undertake the responsibility of any students related matters. Prof. Dr. Mohammad also urged them to intensify their efforts in contributing to the development of students personality socially and academically. The main objective of SRC needs to be refined to achieve great interaction with the university students through a variety of activities that will be oriented by the Students Representative Council and leverage the facilities provided by the university.

The formation of the Student Representative Council (SRC) is an initiative of the University as a way to help the students to voice out their opinions, suggestions or any matters arises as proposed during CEO session with all the students in February 2014.

MEDIU visit The Executive Governor of Kano State, Nigeria

MEDIU representatives visited His Excellency The Executive Governor of Kano State, Nigeria; Ir.Dr.Rabiu Musa KwanKwaso on Monday, 21 April 2014 at PNB Darby Park Executive Suites in Kuala Lumpur.

The delegation was led by the Deanship of Student Affairs, Associate Professor Dr Moussa Oumar Keita and Deanship of Postgraduate Studies, Associate Professor Dr Doukoure Massire. Also presence during the discussion were the Secretary to the Government of Kano, Kano State Government Minister of Education and Executive Secretary of the Commission along with several senior officials of the state government

The visit is to observe MEDIU’s Nigerian students as well as to clarify some matters related to the cooperation development between MEDIU and Kano State. MEDIU representatives briefed on the students report on its academic and financial aspects with a summary report on the students performance. Ir.Dr.Rabiu Musa KwanKwaso expressed his gladness  on the services and facilities provided by the University’s to the students and wish to send more Nigerian students to pursue in postgraduate level.

Meanwhile, His Excellency The Executive Governor of Kano State hopes the University’s to provide utmost care and services towards the students and expressed his admiration to the advanced level MEDIU had reached with the convenient of the technology that has been used to deliver knowledge and information to the Muslim students all around the world.

MEDIU Executive Management Council (EMC) Meeting

MEDIU’s CEO; Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi chaired its 16th EMC meeting on Tuesday, 22 April 2014. The meeting was attended by Deputy CEO’s from all respective departments as well as executive management level. Various agenda were being addressed and discoursed in the meeting.

The EMC has agreed and approved on the matters as follows:

  • To approve on-campus lecturers subjects distribution for the Faculty of Engineering (April 2014)
  • To appoint ‘Dr.Alseed Mohammed Salim’ as lecturer for the Faculty of Languages
  • To approve on-campus lecturers subjects distribution for the Faculty of Languages –Foundation in Arabic Languages and Islamic Studies (April 2014)

Visit by Mascara University, Algeria


Al-Madinah International University(MEDIU) received an honoured guest, Dr Djilali Benabou; Vice Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management of Mascara University in Algeria on Tuesday, 22 April 2014. The honored guest was welcomed by MEDIU’s Honorable CEO; Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi with the presence of Deputy CEO of Research and Development; Assoc. Prof. Dr. AB Rahim Ismail and  Dean, Faculty of Finance and Administrative Sciences; Prof. Dr.Sadun Naser Yassin Alheety. Mascara University was established in 1986 and recognized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Algeria.

MEDIU’s CEO welcomed the honored guest presence in the framework of education cooperation with other universities.  During the visit, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khalifa stated that the orientation of the University’s education system is in the adoption of the latest technology as well as pioneer in e-learning method in the pursuit of modern global educational system. An introductory presentation on the University’s, campus management system, as well as the e-learning methods were presented to the honored guest byAssoc. Prof. Dr. AB Rahim Ismail.

Lastly, the honored guest expressed their admiration towards MEDIU’s commitment to provide utmost care and services towards the students and the advanced level MEDIU had reached and followed by an office tour around MEDIU’s academic and administrative facilities.

Election Results for President of Student Representative Council(SCR)


An-election to elect a Student Representative Council(SCR)for the year 2014 was held on Friday, 18 April 2014. The election session was attended by MEDIU’s students to choose their preferred candidate for the council. The selection process and the outcome of the election is a collaboration by MEDIU’s Counseling and Student Activities Department.

The Election Commission chaired by the Dean of Student Affairs, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Moussa Oumar Keita has announced students Mr.Ramzi Oulad Imaroudia held the presidency with 69 votes. The students expressed excitement in taking part in this event and Dr.Moussa conveyed his appreciation to those involved in making the event a success namely Asst. Prof. Dr. Umar Aliyu Abu Bakar, Mohamad Anas Naji, Malik Mustafa, Othman A.M. Miaikil and Mahmoud Radwan Hussein Al-Zgool. The Commission also wishes to thank MEDIU’s CEO; Prof. Dr. Mohammed bin Khalifa Al-Tamimi on his continuous support on students affairs and development.

Visit by Al Qalam Institute, Yemen

 

In a collaborative effort to close ties between universities and other educational organizations, MEDIU’s Honorable CEO, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khalifa Al-Tamimi received an honored guest; Prof. Dr. Hassan bin Mohammed Shabalah from the Institute of Humanities and Consumerism, Al Qalam Institute in Yemen on Friday, 18 April 2014. The purpose of the visit was to see the achievements and progress of MEDIU in applying modern technology in the education system.

 

During the visit, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Khalifa stated that the orientation of the University’s education system is in the adoption of the latest technology as well as pioneer in e-learning method in the pursuit of modern global educational system. This was followed by a brief presentation about the University’s, its goals as well as the faculties and programs available. A detailed visual presentation on the university’s, its techniques and educational administrative process were also being presented to the honored guest by Mr.Aiman Abdullah.

 

A token of appreciation were handed over to the honored guest at the end of the visit and the honoured guest expressed his admiration on the progress and achievements the University’s had reached and wished MEDIU will continue in its accomplishments and its development year after year so it becomes a landmark of knowledge and that it brings benefit to all the Muslim countries.

 

Institute of Humanities and Consumerism http://www.alkalm.net is a private institution appointed by the Minister of Higher Education and National Scientific Research of Yemen (000339/2010M). The admission is open to higher education institutions and has been awarded with a complete syllabus and integrated teaching aids for the education sector.
